Job/Person Summary
We are looking for a new Admin Assistant to join our successful team. We are a diverse and unique setting in the heart of Southsea, committed to delivering excellent outcomes for all our children. Our Admin Team play a crucial role in supporting all areas of our school and nursery and are based in the main school office. We are looking for someone with experience in a customer-facing environment to take on this busy and varied role. Ideally, you’ll have a school background but this is not essential.
You will greet visitors, parents and children arriving at our setting and as part of your role you will be the first point of contact for parents enquiring about our nursery. You will arrange visits and sessions and be responsible for maintaining the data on our nursery MI System. You will also liaise with parents around grant funding and help complete our termly funding claims. Our Admin Team work across the school and nursery, so you will also book sessions for our Before and After School Clubs and assist parents of children attending our Infant School, both in person and over the telephone.
What are we looking for in an Admin Assistant?
- Has grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Has a high standard of both written and spoken literacy
- Is confident in using IT, especially Microsoft Office applications
- Is an excellent communicator and can talk confidently with staff, pupils, parents and the wider community
- Is organised and able to prioritise their workload
- Is flexible in working practices and uses their initiative to work independently where appropriate
- Is able to work under pressure and multi-task whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
