Working Hours: 20

Salary: Band: 4, £25,201 - £26,473 (£13,622 - £14,309 for 20 hours) plus 33% shift enhancement depending on rota.

Rota: Week one: Wednesday 21:30pm into Thursday 07:30am, Week two: Monday 21:30pm into Tuesday 07:30am, Friday 21:30pm into Saturday 07:30am, Saturday 21:30pm into Sunday 07:30.

Your New Role:

  • Using a person centred approach you will look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of service users. This will include personal care, assisting clients at meal times and all aspects of daily living.
  • You will be providing person centred care in the form of social activities which promotes the individual's mental health and wellbeing and improves their quality of life.
  • You will be a key worker to specific individuals taking responsibility to ensure information about their health and wellbeing is recorded and communicated to the assistant managers and others as per our legal requirement under the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • It will be your responsibility to ensure monitoring and hourly checks with detailed recording on daily record sheets of your observations are carried out on residents throughout the day and night and their care needs are met.
  • As a Night Support Worker supporting vulnerable adults you must be open and transparent. Should something go wrong or you witness unsafe practice, you have a responsibility (Duty of Candour) to ensure you raise this concern with a manager immediately.
  • There will be the need for light food preparation.

Who is the person:

  • You will need to have the ability to converse at ease with residents with cognitive impairment and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
  • You will have patience and empathy with an understanding of the needs of people with different types of learning disabilities.
  • You will have experience in a caring role as a formal paid or unpaid carer with the ability to deal with emergencies in a confident manner.
  • You will be flexible and adaptable being able to use your own initiative and make decisions.
  • You will have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
  • You will be required to take part in training (on and off site) some of which is mandatory and must be successfully completed within your probationary period.
