We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Prescription Clerk to join our team. If you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good time management and can prioritise work appropriately in a pressurised environment.

We are recruiting for 2 positions, for 30 hours over 5 days and 23 hours over Tues-Fri.

Main duties of the job

To contribute to the administrative work in the Practice PrescriptionHub; ensuring all prescription requests are actioned promptly, and to ensure prescriptionsare administered within the designated timescale, assist in Pharmacy teamclinic booking to maximise capacity and contribute to coverage of the Practiceurgent line.

About us

Portsdown Group Practice covers the whole of Portsmouth from postcodes PO1 to PO7. We operate from 6 surgeries: Cosham Park House (PO6 3BG), Crookhorn Lane (PO7 5XP, Heyward Road (PO4 0DY), Kingston Crescent (PO2 8AL), Paulsgrove (PO6 4HJ), and Somerstown (PO5 4EZ).

We are our own Primary Care Network (PCN). We have Clinical Partners, Salaried GPs and a comprehensive Nursing and extended clinical team overseen by our Clinical Team Manager. The team consists of Nurse / Paramedic Practitioners, Registered Nurses, HCAs, MSK Physiotherapists, Podiatrist, Social Prescribers and Care Co-ordinators. The Pharmacy team consists of Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

The Practice is well established, financially secure and successful.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification

Experience

  • Work experience in a customer facing role
  • Experience in a fast paced/busy working environment
  • Experience of working within a primary care setting
  • Previous history of working within a prescription focused environment

Other

  • Do you have the independent Right to Work within the UK, without sponsorship from us at any point?

Qualifications

  • Good general standard of education
  • NVQ in Customer Service or equivalent

Knowledge

  • IT knowledge
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Understanding of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of clinical systems in healthcare
  • Knowledge of prescription process
  • Medication and prescription terminology
