Automation Engineer
Work pattern: Hybrid, 50% on site
Location: City of London
IR35 determination: Inside
Rate: up to Β£400 per day
Duration: 6 months + ext
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities.
- Ensure applications remain compliant with vendor support and security requirements.
- Administer applications deployed on Windows and Linux environments.
- Troubleshoot application, middleware and infrastructure issues.
- Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes.
- Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools.
- Build CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Promote Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices.
Essential Criteria
- Strong experience administering enterprise applications on both Windows and Linux.
- Experience delivering applications and platform upgrades in production environments.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar tools.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Experience with application servers, middleware and databases.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience integrating Artifactory, Xray and SonarQube into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with application release management, dependency management and repository governance.
- Experience designing, implementing and maintaining GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring and observability tools
