Portobello Legal Media is a growing, boutique publishing house specialising in the provision of information, workflow tools, and events for the international legal market. Our first platform, International Employment Lawyer, was launched in February 2021 and is now established as the leading provider of information and events for employment lawyers across the world. Our second platform, Global Mobility Lawyer, was launched in late 2024 and is developing rapidly into a leading resource for mobility and immigration professionals. With ambitious plans for growth over the coming years, we have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join the team.
This role involves working with our editorial and events teams to produce market leading conference agendas and world-class speaking lists for our global series of events. The successful candidate will work with our team to create engaging and informative content for our events, and exceptional networking opportunities for our attendees. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career in a supportive and collaborative environment. The role will include opportunities to travel; we currently organise conferences in Amsterdam, Dubai, Mumbai, New York, Paris, São Paulo, Singapore, Stockholm, and more. The role is based at our London office.
Key role and responsibilities:
- Work closely with the editorial team to understand the latest trends and developments in the international employment and global mobility spheres;
- Conduct additional research with sponsors, key contacts, and industry leaders to curate cutting-edge agendas for our portfolio of events around the world;
- Work with the events and editorial teams to create dynamic, diverse, and varied speaker lists;
- Collaborate with other departments to identify new opportunities for product and revenue growth;
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships;
- Professionally represent our brands at events around the world.
Requirements and competencies:
- Specific experience would be a bonus but is not a requirement. The ideal candidate will be able to show or have:
- A keen interest in research, writing, and the event industry;
- Excellent in-person and written communication skills;
- A proactive and self-motivated personality, with the ability to manage competing priorities;
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and basic IT skills;
- A strong work ethic and the ability to pitch in and work in an entrepreneurial team.
