Role summary: The Assistant Management Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing accurate and timely information to support the Management Accountant in producing management reports. The role includes ensuring the timely production of accurate monthly journals, assisting with monthly costing tasks, accruals, and prepayments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Reviewing monthly departmental cost reporting and discussing forecasts with senior management.
  2. Maintaining the database for raw material purchases and sourced product purchases, serving as a basis for annual standard costs.
  3. Preparing and distributing ecommerce and retail accounts.
  4. Posting and reconciling cash paid/received and liaising with departments to reconcile the Cashbook on a daily and monthly basis.
  5. Assisting with the analysis of general ledger cost centres to support cost allocation.
  6. Analyzing and reconciling monthly direct shipments to invoiced sales.
  7. Processing and valuing stock monthly for the Management Accounts pack.
  8. Costing products and assisting with stocktakes.
  9. Supporting the preparation of weekly/monthly KPI and sales reports.
  10. Preparing manual revenue adjustments, e.g., cash discounts.
  11. Reconciling monthly control accounts.
  12. Ensuring purchase invoices are coded and logged promptly.
  13. Processing and reviewing monthly accruals and prepayments.
  14. Filing intercompany invoices and reconciling intercompany balances.
  15. Reporting royalties quarterly to Licensors.
  16. Handling ad hoc queries from the Management Accountant and other departments.

Key Measures

  • Completing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports within deadlines.
  • Finishing all other reporting within specified timescales.
  • Ensuring reports are accurate and clear, with attention to detail.
  • Receiving positive feedback from report users.
  • Improving reporting processes, including reducing time and developing new reports.
