  • A Practice Clinical Lead who focuses on the clinical leadership of the practice, how clinical factors directly impact the performance and direction of the practice and who works with the Practice Manager.

We recently introduced the Practice Clinical Lead role into a number of our practices, to help us emulate the leadership that is lost when former practice owners either leave their practices or look to focus on wider interests.

Consequently, we are now recruiting new Practice Clinical Leads to help us achieve this same success across more of our practices.

The Practice Manager and Practice Clinical Lead work together as the practice leadership team to lead the practice and make it as efficient and successful as possible, while being a great place for colleagues to work and clinicians to practice and deliver high levels of clinical care.

  • With our support, define the practice ambition and strategy.
  • Mentor others and give them a clinical voice.
  • Act as a cultural ambassador for the Portman Group as well as the practice.
  • Provide a positive influence to all practice colleagues to support engagement.

  • Are credible, respected and hold yourself to high ethical standards.

What’s in it for you

  • An opportunity to gain exposure to the commercial and leadership aspects of dentistry with support and development to help you realise your potential.
  • Experience of working for a small part of your week in a employed role for a leading dental provider.

This role will be distinct and separate from any Associate Dentist Agreement.

  • A guaranteed monthly salary for the duties carried out as Practice Clinical Lead .
  • And be rewarded with a share of the practice profit with no personal investment required.
  • Additional Information

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplace.

We are committed to creating an environment of mutual respect and are dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity, marital or civil partner status, disability, age, or nationality.

Some tips for your application 🫡

Showcase Your Specialisations:In the dentistry field, it's crucial for us to see your areas of expertise. Whether you have a focus on paediatric dentistry, orthodontics, or implants, make sure to highlight any specialisations in your CV. Relevant certificates or continuing education courses can add serious weight to your application!

Build a Portfolio of Cases:For a freelance position, your practical experience is key. Compile a portfolio that showcases your best cases, including before-and-after photos (with patient consent, of course!) and any testimonials from clients or colleagues. This will really help us visualise your skills and the quality of your work.

Present Your Treatment Philosophy:Don’t forget to include a brief section in your application about your treatment philosophy. Freelancing means you’ll often have clients looking for a specific approach or style, so let us know what makes your practice unique. This will help us see if you align with the values at PortmanDentex.

Be Clear About Your Availability:In your cover letter, clearly state your availability and preferred working hours. This is particularly important for freelancing as it helps us manage appointment schedules effectively. Plus, it gives us an idea of how we can collaborate with you seamlessly.
