ABOUT THE ROLE
As a deployment engineer (IT/AV), you will play a crucial role in our growth by being the point of contact for our clients on site while deploying the various IT and AV projects. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a keen eye for problem-solving, and a proactive approach to IT & AV support. Your role will include:
- Delivering onsite IT & AV deployments at customer locations
- Carrying out first-fix and second-fix IT/AV installations
- Installation and termination of structured cabling (Cat6/6a, HDMI, USB, audio)
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues during deployment
- Log and document installation details in our Knowledge management platform, ensuring all information is accurately recorded
- Commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting deployed systems
- Working from project documentation and statements of work ensuring all technical requirements and milestones are met
- Supporting project managers and senior engineers on larger deployments
- Providing clear handover and basic user guidance at project completion
ABOUT YOU
- An enthusiastic problem solver with a strong passion for IT/AV
- Familiar with remote support tools and ticketing systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in a field support or similar IT deployment role within an MSP environment
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards learning new IT & AV technology
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- An understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, Subnetting, and VLANs
- Familiar with protocols like Dante (for audio), SDVoE, or NDI (for video)
- Ability to configure managed switches (Cisco, Netgear, Ubiquiti)
- Experience in commissioning or basic programming for systems like Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, Biamp, or Control4
- Experience with setting up Microsoft Teams Room, Zoom Rooms or Google Meet Rooms
- Experience with site survey and deployment of enterprise-grade Access Points (APs)
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft certifications, Cisco certifications) are a plus
