As part of this growth, they are now seeking an exceptional Group Operations Director to join the Executive Team and take ownership of group-wide operations, service delivery, operational integration, and customer experience across the organisation. This is a highly influential role, responsible for ensuring operational consistency, scalability, and service excellence across a multi-business environment.
The successful candidate will combine strong commercial awareness with deep operational leadership experience within technology, managed services, telecoms, or cybersecurity environments. The role:
- Lead and evolve the group operating model across multiple businesses and operational functions
- Take ownership of service excellence, operational delivery, and customer experience across the organisation
- Drive improvements in SLAs, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency
- Lead transformation initiatives focused on automation, AI, and scalable service delivery
- Build and develop a high-performing operations leadership team across service desk, delivery, PMO, and support functions
- Ensure operational integration of acquisitions is delivered effectively, maintaining consistency and service quality
- Work closely with the Executive Team to align operational strategy with commercial growth objectives
- Introduce robust operational reporting, KPI frameworks, and performance visibility across the group
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve cost-to-serve, scalability, and operational resilience
- Foster a customer-centric culture focused on reliability, responsiveness, and long-term client relationships
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven senior operational leadership experience within managed services, MSSP, technology services, telecoms, or IT environments at or near board/executive level
- Strong track record of leading scalable service operations and operational transformation programmes
- Experience improving customer experience, SLA performance, CSAT, and operational delivery metrics
- Demonstrable experience integrating acquired businesses within high-growth or acquisitive organisations
- Strong commercial awareness, including operational performance ownership and cost-to-serve optimisation
- Experience implementing automation, AI, or technology-led operational improvements
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at Executive level
- Comfortable operating within fast-paced, evolving, and growth-oriented environments
- Experience leading sizeable, multi-disciplinary operational teams through change and expansion
- Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on operational execution capability
- Service-management qualifications, experience in private-equity-backed, acquisitive groups and exposure to education-sector clients highly desirable
