Our client is a successful and rapidly expanding IT and telecoms services business with a growing network of offices, currently including Hertfordshire, London, the Midlands and Scotland. They have ambitious plans for further expansion across the UK and are now seeking a highly technical, customer focussed Head of Sales to join their head office leadership team in Hertfordshire.

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, shaping commercial strategy, and growing and leading a high-performing sales team. This role blends strategic vision with operational execution, ensuring that customer relationships, partner ecosystems, and internal sales practices are aligned to deliver scalable and sustainable growth. This includes developing and strengthening client relationships through regular engagement, identifying opportunities for growth, and overseeing the creation of tailored digital roadmaps and QBRs to increase recurring revenue, project work, and strategic partnerships. The role is also responsible for enhancing overall commercial performance by embedding scalable sales practices and supporting business development initiatives.

A key part of the remit involves shaping deal structures, pricing strategies, and ensuring all commercial practices are clearly documented, communicated, and aligned with operational and sales objectives—as well as broader company policies.

The Role:

  • Lead the development and execution of a clear commercial and sales strategy across all customer segments
  • Inspire, coach and manage a high-performing sales and account management team to exceed performance targets
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability
  • Build strong customer and partner relationships, acting as a key ambassador at industry events and forums
  • Ensure a customer-first culture, with teams delivering regular QBRs and tailored digital roadmaps to maximise client value
  • Oversee bid management, pricing strategies and deal structuring to optimise margins and drive profitability
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver scalable, tailored IT and Unified Communications solutions
  • Monitor and analyse sales, marketing, finance and performance data to identify opportunities and improve outcomes
  • Manage and report on out-of-contract revenue and performance targets
  • Lead succession planning and development pathways with the Sales and Account Management teams

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience leading sales teams in IT, telecoms or technology services
  • Proven experience shaping and delivering commercial strategy, with a strong track record of revenue and margin growth
  • Hands-on experience in B2B solution selling with a focus on IT and UC products and services
  • Strong understanding of deal structuring, pricing, and bid development
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Innovative problem solver and highly effective communicator able to successfully influence others to accept and support an idea/proposal/plan
  • Skilled in Excel and data-driven sales management
  • Bachelor’s degree required
