About the Role

Professional Healthcare Solutions Ltd is looking for an experienced and committed Deputy Team Manager / Deputy Manager to join their children's residential service in Wolverhampton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager or a strong Senior Residential Support Worker who is ready to take the next step into management. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance while supporting positive outcomes for the young person. As the home develops and takes further placements, you will have the opportunity to play an important role in its continued growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the children's home.
  • Take responsibility for the home and staff team when the Registered Manager is unavailable.
  • Confidently lead shifts and make sound decisions independently.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to the residential care team.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and children's care.
  • Ensure records, reports and documentation are completed accurately and to a high standard.
  • Contribute to care planning, reviews and ongoing assessments.
  • Participate in Ofsted inspections and ensure the home maintains regulatory standards.
  • Attend and contribute to LAC Reviews and Local Authority meetings.
  • Support Quality Assurance reviews, audits and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a positive, safe and nurturing environment for children and young people.
  • Support the Registered Manager as the home grows and takes further placements.

About You

We are looking for a confident and motivated children's residential professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility. You will ideally have previous experience as a Deputy Manager, although strong Senior Residential Support Workers with the ability and ambition to progress into management will also be considered. You will need to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience within children's residential care.
  • Previous experience working within an Ofsted-regulated children's home.
  • The ability to confidently lead shifts and support a staff team.
  • The ability to run the home independently when required.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent recording, report writing and communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding.
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections, LAC Reviews and Local Authority meetings.
  • Experience contributing to Quality Assurance processes.
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • A long-term commitment to developing your career within children's residential care.

Qualifications

Preferred: Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent. Also considered: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, with a willingness to work towards Level 4. Candidates who are already working towards their Level 4 qualification.
