The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Children's Registered Manager to lead the relaunch of a residential children's home in Greater Manchester.
The home is currently closed while undergoing a complete refurbishment and rebrand.
This presents a genuine blank-canvas opportunity for an experienced manager to rebuild the service, recruit a new staff team and influence its future care model.
The provider is open to applicants with either emotional and behavioural difficulties or learning-disability experience.
The manager's expertise will help shape the final service model.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mobilisation and successful reopening of the home.
- Complete or maintain the necessary Ofsted registration.
- Recruit, develop and retain a skilled residential staff team.
- Create a safe, stable and therapeutic environment for young people.
- Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and associated Quality Standards.
- Develop and implement effective care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
- Establish a positive culture centred around young people's needs and outcomes.
- Prepare the home for Ofsted inspections and respond effectively to regulatory feedback.
- Work closely with the Responsible Individual, senior operations team and external professionals.
- Manage staffing, rotas, budgets, training and operational performance.
- Build effective relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and commissioners.
- Drive continuous improvement across all areas of the service.
- Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential home.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and the Children's Homes Regulations.
- Relevant children's residential care and management qualifications.
- Experience supporting young people with either EBD or learning disabilities.
- A proven ability to lead, develop and motivate staff teams.
- Confidence managing challenging services and implementing improvement plans.
- Strong organisational, communication and decision-making skills.
- Resilience, professional confidence and a hands-on leadership approach.
Previous experience opening a new home, relaunching a service or improving an underperforming provision would be particularly advantageous.
