Our client is launching a brand-new, 2-bed high-intensity therapeutic childrens home in North Shropshire and is looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker to help lead the service from the very beginning. This is a unique opportunity to be part of something new - helping shape a home designed to support children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs, giving them stability, care, and a brighter future.

Working alongside an experienced Registered Manager, you’ll be part of a supportive leadership team within a growing national organisation, where your ideas, creativity, and leadership will be valued and encouraged.

Why Join Our Client?

Our client is committed to creating an environment where both staff and young people can thrive. You’ll benefit from strong leadership support, clear progression opportunities, and a therapeutic approach to care that prioritises positive outcomes and reduced restraint. You’ll be encouraged to develop professionally, with full support to achieve your Level 5 qualification and progress into a Registered Manager role. The organisation promotes a culture of collaboration, offering regular team meetings, ongoing supervision, and access to specialist clinical guidance. In addition, you’ll receive a competitive salary with enhanced sleep-in payments, funded qualifications, paid training, a comprehensive induction programme, generous annual leave, and access to wellbeing support services. Staff also benefit from discount schemes, a pension plan, and a referral bonus programme.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, supporting the Registered Manager to deliver a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. You will help lead and develop the staff team, ensuring young people receive consistent, high-quality care that supports their emotional and behavioural needs. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will contribute to care planning, safeguarding, staff development, and the overall success of the home.

  • Support the development and implementation of care plans and behaviour strategies
  • Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and best practice
  • Step up to manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a childrens residential setting
  • Experience at Senior or Deputy Manager level
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children & Young People (or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures
  • Experience managing rotas, staffing, and budgets
  • A strong, resilient, and child-focused leadership style
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
