Lead a Home That Changes Young Lives. Our client is an expanding and highly respected provider of residential care for children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, and abuse. They are now seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a residential children's home in Stoke-on-Trent.

Our client is a well-established and growing provider of children's residential care with all operating homes rated Good by Ofsted, demonstrating a strong commitment to high standards and stability. You will join a collaborative network of experienced managers who regularly share best practice and support one another, alongside an approachable senior leadership team that provides consistent guidance. In addition, the role offers a generous benefits package including a competitive salary, quarterly bonus scheme, employee wellbeing support, and an excellent annual leave allowance of 41 days including bank holidays.

About the Role

As Registered Manager, you will lead and develop the residential home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care in line with relevant legislation and the home's Statement of Purpose. You will provide motivational leadership to the team, ensuring children and young people receive consistent, therapeutic care that promotes safety, stability, and positive development. This role is Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, with participation in the on-call rota and occasional overnight cover when required.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the children's residential home in line with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Ensure the home provides safe, nurturing, and high-quality care that promotes positive outcomes for young people.
  • Lead, motivate, and support staff to deliver exceptional care and maintain professional standards.
  • Safeguard and promote the rights, wellbeing, and development of children and young people.
  • Oversee care planning and ensure young people's needs are regularly assessed and reviewed.
  • Manage rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels and continuity of care.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, external agencies, and commissioning authorities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory and inspection requirements.
  • Promote positive relationships between staff, young people, and their families.
  • Maintain the home environment to high safety and quality standards.
  • Participate in the Registered Manager on-call rota and provide cover for other homes when required.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership experience within a children's residential home setting.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding practices and the Children Act 1989.
  • Excellent understanding of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Care Standards Act 2000.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, child-focused care.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or working towards).
  • Demonstrable senior-level experience within a residential children's home.
