About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Supervising Social Worker to join their fostering team. This role is based in Cardiff, with responsibility for a caseload across South Wales. You will join a service committed to delivering high-quality support to children, young people and foster parents. Essential Requirements

  • You must have a reflective and creative approach when working with foster carers and young people.
  • Be able to manage a caseload of 13-15 fostering families, offering guidance, supervision and development support.
  • Be committed to providing wraparound support, including participation in the out-of-hours on-call service.
  • Be passionate about contributing to the growth and development of the fostering service.
  • Hold a professional Social Work qualification.
  • Be registered with Social Care Wales or willing to register (registration fee covered by our client).
  • Have experience in fostering or related children's social care (e.g., looked-after children's teams).
  • Be able to evidence your ability to assess and identify young people's needs.
  • Have sound knowledge of fostering regulations, childcare law, and safeguarding practice.
  • Be able to complete objective, professional assessments.
  • Have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable

  • Ability to speak Welsh (not essential).
