They are seeking a passionate and experienced Children's Deputy Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day running of a residential home. The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home provides outstanding care and support to children and young people. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and child-centred environment while leading and developing the staff team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.
- Assist with the day-to-day management and operation of the home.
- Ensure the home remains compliant with Children's Home Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Lead, motivate, and support the staff team through effective supervision and guidance.
- Conduct monthly staff supervisions and facilitate team meetings.
- Assist with recruitment, induction, training, and development of staff.
- Prepare and maintain staff rotas.
- Complete risk assessments, reports, and other documentation to a high standard.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of children remains at the centre of all practice.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, resilience, and excellent childcare practice.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, or a commitment to achieving this qualification.
- At least two years' experience working within social care.
- Strong knowledge of Children's Home Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.
- Experience leading, supervising, and motivating a staff team.
- Experience completing risk assessments and preparing reports.
- A passion for supporting children and young people, including those who may present behaviours that challenge.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to care.
