Working within our clients Childrens Residential Homes means becoming part of a young persons everyday life, supporting them through both their highest highs and lowest lows. As a Deputy Manager, you will help create an environment where young people feel safe, secure, supported, and motivated to achieve positive outcomes. The home supports children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), with a holistic and therapeutic approach at the centre of the service. Through close collaboration with clinical professionals and support teams, the service is designed to meet the emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs of every young person in care. While there will be challenges, there will also be many rewarding moments where even the smallest progress becomes a huge achievement.

The Role: As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring high-quality care, safeguarding, and operational standards are consistently maintained. You will:

  • Support the leadership and development of the staff team
  • Help ensure the home operates in line with Childrens Home Regulations and Quality Standards
  • Promote positive outcomes and therapeutic care practices
  • Support safeguarding, risk management, and care planning
  • Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals
  • Assist with audits, compliance, and staff supervision
  • Step into the Registered Manager role when required

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience within residential childcare
  • Previous supervisory or senior experience within a Childrens Residential Home
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (desirable or willingness to work towards)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and Childrens Home Regulations
  • Passionate, committed, and resilient leader
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months
