This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being out on patch, building relationships with tenants, carrying out tenancy visits, welfare checks, sign-ups, and ensuring homes are safe, compliant and well managed. A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role involves regular travel between schemes.

The Role

As Housing Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day housing management of a patch of supported housing schemes, working closely with tenants, care and support providers, and internal teams. You will be a visible presence on site, ensuring tenants feel supported, listened to and safe in their homes.

Key duties include:

  • Carrying out regular tenancy and property visits (minimum quarterly)
  • Completing tenant sign-ups, tenancy sustainment work and welfare checks
  • Managing voids, inspections and re-lets to maximise occupancy
  • Ensuring buildings meet health & safety and building safety compliance
  • Working with maintenance teams to report and follow up repairs
  • Responding to tenancy management issues, including anti-social behaviour
  • Liaising with care and support providers to maintain positive, welcoming environments
  • Supporting rent and service charge collection alongside the Income Team
  • Accurately recording tenant contact and actions on housing management systems

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working as a Housing Officer or similar housing management role
  • Is confident carrying out face-to-face tenant engagement and lone working
  • Has experience managing tenancies, sign-ups, voids and property inspections
  • Is organised, proactive and able to manage their own patch
  • Has strong communication skills and can work collaboratively with multiple agencies
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and can travel across South London and Kent
  • Experience within supported housing or working with vulnerable adults is highly desirable.

What's on Offer

  • £22-£25 per hour
  • 3-6 month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave
  • Mileage expenses covered
  • An opportunity to make a genuine difference to people's lives
