The predicted salary is between 43200 - 64800 £ per year.
In this role, you'll be working to the interim Devolution Chief Officer to provide an expert communications and engagement function. Impactful core deliverables of the role are:
- Define the scope, objectives, audience and resource to define the communications, partnerships and consultation strategy for the combined county authority and Mayor.
- Develop the delivery structure reflecting government communications service best practice and in line with tech/AI innovation, automation and creative best practices.
- Establish communications toolkit including blueprint for basic delivery (website, intranet, media, policy and stakeholder briefing programmes), monitoring and evaluation dashboard and real-time ongoing learning.
- Build a platform for ongoing participatory consultation, community co-production and digital engagement targeting hard to reach across Sussex.
The role would be consultative and aim to work with partners and communities to improve outcomes while realising efficiencies.
What you'll need to succeed:
You will be an experienced Head of Communications or senior communications manager with proven leadership skills and a clear, practical understanding of the range of modern communications and engagement tools and best practices and their implementation. This will include an understanding of the practical requirements for working effectively with democratically elected politicians.
As well as professional expertise, you will have strong personal credibility, relationship building and partnership working skills combined with the ability to lead, develop, support and coach your team to achieve their full potential and deliver a high quality, modern communications function.
Pay: £600 per day LTD Outside IR35
Office location: The office location is to be confirmed and will be fairly central in the geographical area of East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove.
Working arrangements: Must be present in office 1-2 days per week.
