Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: £33,360 rising to £35,577 per annum, plus additional sleep-in payments
Hours: 39 hours per week, full-time

Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker who is ready to take the next step in their career within children's residential care.
You will join the leadership team of a 4-bed residential home supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their management experience within a supportive organisation that places the needs and outcomes of young people at the heart of its service.
As Deputy Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the home, provide guidance and leadership to the staff team and help maintain consistently high standards of care.
You will also have opportunities to develop professionally, including support towards your Level 5 qualification and progression towards future Registered Manager opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
As Deputy Manager, you will:
- Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the home.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to Residential Support Workers.
- Lead shifts and ensure children and young people receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.
- Promote a therapeutic and child-centred approach to supporting young people.
- Support staff supervision, development and performance.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and Children's Homes Regulations are followed.
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Support the management of staff rotas and budgets.
- Maintain high standards of recording, reporting and compliance.
- Help create a positive culture where young people feel safe, listened to and supported.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
What We're Looking For
To be considered, you should have:
- At least 2 years' experience working within a residential children's home, ideally at Senior or Deputy Manager level.
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Children and Young People / Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
- Good knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and Children's Homes Regulations.
- Experience of leading or supporting a staff team.
- Experience with rotas and ideally budget responsibilities.
- The confidence to take responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Working Pattern
This is a full-time, 39-hour-per-week position involving long-day shifts, weekends and occasional sleep-ins.
