Overview: An established and forward-thinking financial advice business is seeking an experienced Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) to join their succession programme. This is an ideal opportunity for an adviser with an established client bank who is thinking ahead—whether you’re looking to wind down gradually, secure long-term continuity for your clients, or monetise your book while retaining control and involvement. Unlike conventional employed or AR models, this position offers bespoke transition planning, tailored to your goals and client outcomes. You’ll retain ownership, protect client relationships, and benefit from a structured, flexible handover process. Whether you’re 2 years from retirement or just seeking an eventual equity release, this role is built around you.
What’s on Offer:
- Full support infrastructure including paraplanning, compliance, admin, and client servicing
- Flexible transition options: phase down over time or step back fully with a handover period
- Book purchase option at market value or earn-out model based on ongoing revenue
- Continued adviser involvement post-transition (if desired) - advisory, ambassadorial, or consultancy
- Bespoke succession plan tailored around your desired timescale (1-5 years typical)
- Backed by a privately owned, stable and ethical business with national reach
- No pressure to push product or platform - client-first, holistic advice model
- DFM and CIP options available but not mandatory
- Retain prestige and reputation while de-risking your personal future
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Diploma qualified (DipPFS, DipFA or equivalent) - Chartered or AF exams welcome but not essential
- Established client bank (typically £10m+ FUM or £100k+ recurring income)
- CAS status and proven track record in holistic financial planning
- Strong client relationships and a desire to ensure continuity
- Seeking to reduce operational burden, step back from day-to-day, or begin retirement planning
- Open to a long-term phased exit or immediate sale with client transition
- Self-motivated, ethical and client-centric
Suitable for:
- Independent or self-employed advisers
- Business owners looking to sell their client bank
- Advisers leaving networks who want a more tailored exit
- ARs or RIs seeking greater control over their retirement
Remuneration:
- Structured based on your goals - either:
- Upfront capital payment
- Ongoing revenue share + client service support
- Deferred earn-out
- Combination
Let’s talk confidentially about your personal situation and what you want your next 5-10 years to look like.
