To manage the Portman Finance Group websites with the aim of boosting sales leads through improvements to traffic and conversion rate. Much of the marketing budget is spent driving potential customers to the website. The smooth operation of the site, organic ranking and usability of the site has a huge impact on the success of marketing campaigns as well as business revenue.

Responsible for:

  • Managing Portman Finance Group’s Wordpress-based websites and app, supported by an external developer.
  • The role encompasses all aspects of website management other than the actual coding and production of design assets, broadly split into 4 areas:

How does it work?

  • Owning the functionality and UX / UI of the website.
  • Deploying and using any appropriate testing, monitoring or analytical software designed to understand user behaviour on the site.
  • Suggesting changes and executing them once approved.

What does it show?

  • Lead the provision of all quality customer-focused content.
  • Reviewing, writing or supporting the production of regular web page copy, case studies and blog articles.
  • Supporting the execution of campaign landing page content, any video content and explainers.
  • Owning any creative and functional redevelopments of the site.

How does it rank?

  • Owning website technical, content and navigational SEO, GEO and AIO, boosting site ranking to the right audience.

Is it working?

  • Ongoing analysis of website performance across key metrics.
  • Building measurability into website changes to understand their effectiveness.
  • Deploying a test and learn strategy.
  • Presenting and learning from results.
  • Building and executing a roadmap for change.

The role also involves taking ownership of the app from the existing agency and replacing them as a provider then leading the redevelopment of the app.

Software in use: Wordpress and associated plug-ins, Zoho CRM, Tag Manager, Search Console, OneTrust.

Requirements

Must have:

  • 5 years experience in a website management marketing role, preferably in a sales-focused business.
  • Experience of Wordpress, and the suite of Google tools.
  • A strong and up-to-date knowledge of the latest SEO techniques.
  • A sound level of copywriting.
  • Experience of working with data and an understanding of measurement techniques.
  • Familiarity with a test and learn approach.
  • Attention to detail; ensuring flawless execution across all deliverables.
