Portland School has an opening for an unqualified teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality vocational learning. Some lessons may cover construction and motor vehicle maintenance for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will use practical, hands‑on learning experiences to develop pupils’ technical skills, confidence, resilience, employability and aspirations within a supportive and therapeutic educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Approx. 50% of allocated time teaching vocational subjects.
  • Curriculum development, workshop management and assessment.
  • Intervention programmes, pastoral support and employer engagement.
  • Enrichment activities and contributing to the wider life of the school.
