We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, resilient, and compassionate Instructor to join our specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students who require additional support to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs and will be able to build positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and practical lessons and learning activities to small groups of students
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs through positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation approaches
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to support student development
  • Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Promote positive relationships, resilience, and independence
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or additional needs
  • Be calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations
  • Have strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Be able to motivate and engage hard-to-reach learners
  • Have a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
  • Experience in vocational, practical, or creative subjects would be advantageous
