We are looking for a warm, motivated and experienced Early Years Educator to join our nurturing Baby Room at our Portland House Nursery. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate practitioner who thrives in a supportive, child‑centred environment and is committed to providing outstanding care for babies aged 3–24 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the baby room, ensuring a safe, stimulating and caring environment.
  • Support babies’ learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Plan engaging age‑appropriate activities that promote sensory exploration, early communication, physical development and secure attachments.
  • Supervise, mentor and guide room practitioners to ensure high-quality practice.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children’s progress.
  • Maintain accurate observations, records and developmental assessments.
  • Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety and nursery policies are consistently followed.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 or above in Early Years / Childcare (required).
  • Proven experience working with babies in a nursery setting.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development.
  • Confident in leading a team and supporting staff development.
  • Warm, caring and patient, with a genuine passion for Early Years.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
