About the role
We currently have a vacancy for a new Part-time Finance Assistant working from our Gateshead office. The Finance Assistant will support our Managing Director in maintaining and delivering accurate and timely financial information, following internal controls and processes to help the business meet targets and reporting deadlines. This exciting role will assist in both Cost/Management Accounting, Financial Accounting and Reporting of internal efficiencies. Collaborating with our finance software Xero and project management software CMAP, the successful candidate will monitor, report and analyse data. We understand that this is a bespoke, evolving role which will add great value to the business and provide efficient financial support to the management. Therefore, we will provide the successful candidate with support, guidance and financial training with a view to potential progression within the company.
Overall responsibility for the whole of the Finance Systems, comprising:
- Project Costing and Analysis from Project Management system
- Budgetary Control
- Liaison with the External Accountant
- Reporting financial overview to Management Team
- Resource Analysis from Project Management System
Specific Roles within Finance:
- Credit Control
- Debt Management
- Payroll maintenance
What you will have:
- Experience and knowledge in Cost/Management Accounting
- A strong understanding in the development of systems
- The right candidate should be working towards AAT
- A desire to integrate project management and finance
- The ability to work to strict deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail
- A minimum of 2 years bookkeeping and basic accounts experience
- Manipulation of complex information using a range of skills and techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Xero experience would be preferred but not essential
- Experience of CMAP would be beneficial but not essential
