Are you an experienced teacher who has worked with students with a visual impairment?

This role requires patience, empathy and a positive attitude towards working with learners of varied cognitive abilities.

You will have experience of working with and supporting individuals with a visual impairment and be passionate about making a positive difference to individuals’ lives.

To excel within this role, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with the team and other departments within the college to share your specialist skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience Needed:

• You will be a Qualified Teacher for Visual Impairment. (QTVI)
• You will hold a Qualified Teacher Status.
• Experience of managing a complex caseload
• Successful experience of managing delivering continuous quality improvement
• Able to work collaboratively at all levels within College and externally
• Experience of multi-agency working and have confidence in advising, supporting and making sound judgements on strategies to meet the needs of learners.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to ensure successful relationships are built and maintained with external agencies.
• The ability to use specialist visual impairment technology associated with education for learners and work closely with the team around the learner to ensure equipment is used effectively and outcomes achieved.
• Experience of working in the Visual Impairment Community.

Working Hours

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.
