We are looking for a dedicated, adaptable, and enthusiastic Progression Tutor to join our Learning and Teaching team at Portland College.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom lessons and adapt sessions to meet learners' needs.
  • Perform administrative tasks and maintain learner records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to programme development.
  • Track and evidence learner progress and liaise with the Education team to ensure learner engagement.

Qualifications

  • Hold a relevant degree qualification.
  • Be a Qualified Teacher or hold an Education and Training qualification at Level 4, or be willing to work towards this.
  • Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate outstanding organisational skills and flexibility within a fast‑paced environment.
  • Preference for experience in a specialist education setting delivering highly differentiated programmes, but training will be provided for suitable candidates.
  • Be willing to carry out an enhanced with Child and Adult Barred Lists DBS check.
  • Be able to provide evidence of care qualifications or be willing to complete a Care Certificate within three months.

Working Hours

Your working week will be 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
