Portland College

We are looking for an organised, professional and compassionate Safeguarding Administrator to provide high-quality administrative support to our Safeguarding Team and Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring that our safeguarding records, processes and meetings are accurate, secure and well organised. This role is based at our main campus, but some travel across sites may be required.

What you will be doing:

  • Accurately inputting, updating and maintaining safeguarding information.
  • Supporting the preparation of safeguarding reports, audits, data and quality assurance information.
  • Preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, maintaining action logs and securely circulating meeting documentation.
  • Promptly referring information or correspondence requiring professional review to the appropriate safeguarding lead.
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information professionally and in line with safeguarding procedures and data protection requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate learner and citizen records.
  • Providing support during audits, quality assurance work and the annual quality cycle.
  • Providing administrative support across care services where required.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working in an office or administrative environment and is confident using databases and Microsoft Office.
  • Has effective communication skills and can demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Is accurate and has a strong attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
  • Is organised and can confidently manage and prioritise a varied workload.
  • Can work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrates empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications needed

  • NVQ 2 in Business Admin and/or Customer Care or willing to work towards
  • Level 2 English and Maths qualification or willing to work towards

Working Hours

22.5 hours – Monday – Friday. Hours can be flexible, but Thursdays are required. Working hours can be discussed at interview.
