Whether you are new to the care sector or have experience, working within a Porthaven care home can be incredibly fulfilling. As an Activities and Wellbeing Assistant you will support the planning, creation and delivery of the home's leisure and wellness programme which aims to encourage residents to participate in a wide range of engaging activities. You will ensure a programme of individual activities is available to enhance the lives and improve the holistic wellbeing of our residents. You will spend time getting to know our residents and tailor activities and leisure pursuits to deliver person‑centred care.
About you: You don't need a background in care as we will provide a full training programme including NAPA Level 2, progression towards NAPA Level 3, and Awards for Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care. You will need excellent computer literacy and reading and writing skills, and you will be able to communicate clearly with a wide variety of people, including our residents. You will be creative and well organised and you will have a genuine interest in active ageing for older people. Weekend availability is essential as our Activity and Wellbeing Assistants work alternate weekends. The successful candidate will be subject to the provision of satisfactory references and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and they must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
