Avondale Care Home provides expert 24-hour residential, nursing, respite and dementia care in a spacious building for up to 90 residents. Avondale’s excellent facilities include private landscaped gardens and grounds, restaurants, a fully equipped gym, library, leisure and wellness room and a private dining room.
Due to expanding capacity, Avondale is now recruiting a Registered Nurse on Days.

As a Registered Nurse on our team, you will care for our residents like you would care for your own family, looking after their physical, psychological and social needs and ensuring that they receive the highest standard of care. You will create a safe and supportive environment for our residents who have a range of physical and mental needs. Relying on your professional judgement, you will make critical clinical decisions. You can expect a wide range of responsibilities, from developing tailored care plans to administering medicine safely and delivering excellence across everything you do.
About you:
- Cheerful, caring and compassionate by nature, with good reading, writing and communication skills.
- Flexible approach to working shifts.
- Passionate about care and making a positive difference to the lives of older people.
- Passion to mentor and share your knowledge with your colleagues.
- Understanding of the importance of effective communication, both verbally and written, and role model professional behaviours.
- Qualified RGN or RMN with a valid NMC pin number and a good knowledge of the most up to date clinical practices.
- Experience as a staff nurse or registered nurse in a care home environment is useful, but not essential.
The successful candidate will be subject to the provision of satisfactory references and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and they must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom. Porthaven currently does not offer Sponsorship or Relocation Packages.
