About the Role

As a Home Trainer, you will provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance on best practices while leading the induction process for our new team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote continuous learning and development within the care home.
  • Deliver engaging induction and training sessions for new team members.
  • Support ongoing professional development of the home's staff.
  • Ensure all training activities align with Porthavens high standards and CQC guidelines.
  • Foster a positive, competent team equipped to provide excellent care.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident in delivering constructive feedback to support the growth of others.

You will have experience working in a care home environment and be enthusiastic about creating positive change in the lives of both our staff and residents.

  • Key Skills and Experience
  • 2 years' minimum experience working as a Senior Carer or Care Team Leader, delivering person‑centred care.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Ideally, some teacher or training experience.
  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, an adult teaching qualification such as the Award in Education and Training (Level 3).
  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, an accredited Level 4 Advanced People Handling and Risk Assessment Key Trainers' Certificate.
  • Ability to deliver training sessions and provide ongoing coaching and support.
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in IT.
  • Excellent communication and feedback skills.
  • Comfortable working in a team‑focused environment.
