About the role

As Home Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of one of our homes, ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality, person-centred care in a warm, welcoming and well-led environment.

In this role you will

  • Lead and be accountable for the overall management, performance, safety, quality and leadership of the home.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of resident care, wellbeing, dignity, safety and quality of life.
  • Provide visible, inspirational leadership so colleagues can deliver exceptional person-centred care.
  • Maintain full compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements, health and safety legislation, employment requirements and company policies.
  • Take responsibility for clinical governance, quality assurance, audits, risk management and continuous improvement activity.
  • Manage the home's occupancy, reputation, budgets, resources, workforce deployment and key performance indicators.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, colleagues, commissioners, healthcare professionals, local authorities, regulatory bodies and the wider community.
  • Promote a safe, caring, inclusive and supportive environment for residents, relatives, visitors, colleagues and contractors.
  • Act as the Registered Manager where applicable, maintaining inspection readiness, statutory notifications and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in the management on-call rota and provide leadership support outside normal working hours when required.

About you

You will be a values-led, compassionate and resident-focused leader with the confidence to manage a busy care home and inspire colleagues across care, nursing, hospitality, housekeeping, maintenance and administration teams.

You will be professional, accountable, approachable and able to build trust with residents, relatives, colleagues and external partners.

You will also have

  • Experience as a Home Manager, Deputy Manager or senior leader within a care home, nursing home or comparable regulated adult social care service.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards, safeguarding, duty of candour, mental capacity, deprivation of liberty safeguards and adult social care legislation.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, registered nurse status, or a willingness to obtain further relevant qualifications.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance, supervision and colleague development.
  • The ability to manage budgets, occupancy, workforce planning, quality performance indicators and operational performance.
  • Experience handling safeguarding, complaints, incidents, audits, inspections and continuous improvement action plans.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, decision-making, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident digital skills, including the use of care planning systems, rota systems, audit tools, incident reporting and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A calm, resilient, solution-focused and flexible approach, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to dignity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Successful candidates will be required to provide satisfactory references, complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and be authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
