Portfolio Procurement has been engaged to recruit an Indirect Buyer. The role involves responsibility for the Purchasing and control of Indirect services with a particular bias on the Capex category.

Main responsibilities:

  • Purchasing of indirect goods and services, including the negotiation of current and expiring contracts.
  • Monitoring of market and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate improved contracts and terms and conditions.
  • Explore alternative sources for indirect goods.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Qualifications:

  • Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Proven track record of procurement achievement within the indirect sector.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements.
  • Contract management and supplier experience, commercially and financially aware with a strong commercial procurement background.
  • Computer literate, to include Microsoft Office suite.
  • Functional procurement experience managing indirect supply including Capex.
  • Knowledge and experience of best practice category management, sourcing, contract management and supplier performance management practices.
  • Expected to travel both UK and internationally; a clean driving licence and passport are essential.
