My client, a global financial services client, is seeking an interim Payroll Specialist to start as soon as possible for a period of 9 months. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the financial services sector and start a new role next month.

Below is a breakdown of the duties of the role:

  • Processing the monthly payroll from end to end for approximately 800+ employees within a team of 3.
  • Preparing monthly payroll sign off.
  • Payment of disbursements for Tax, National Insurance, Pension, Give as You Earn, and Attachment of Earnings.
  • Reconciliation of payroll control and benefit-related balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Performing monthly National Living Wage checks.
  • Assisting with end of year reporting to HMRC such as P60, P11D & PAYE Settlement Agreement.
  • Responding to general queries from our internal Finance Team, employees, HMRC, and other Government bodies.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors and dealing with any issues as they arise.
  • Continuously driving for process improvement of the payroll function.

Person Specification:

  • In-depth 'end to end' payroll experience, including year-end processing and statutory payments and deductions.
  • Comfortable with manual calculations.
  • Good understanding of pension legislation including Auto-Enrolment.
  • Previous exposure to flexible benefits and payroll impact.
  • Experience of ADP IHCM advantageous.
  • Good IT skills essential, including intermediate Excel (Vlookups & Pivot Tables) and MS Word.
