Graduate Software Engineer (React / TypeScript / AWS)
About PortF
PortF is an AI-native platform helping private equity and debt investors automate portfolio monitoring, valuations, and reporting. We work with funds managing billions in assets — but we move like a 10-person startup.
We use AI where it actually makes sense — to read, reconcile, and structure financial data — so our users get instant, trustworthy insights.
The role
We’re looking for a graduate Software Engineer who loves to build and wants to learn fast.
You’ll work across our modern stack (React, TypeScript, Node, Postgres, AWS), helping ship real product features end-to-end — from shaping data models to refining the front-end experience. You’ll work directly with senior engineers and the founders, learning how to design scalable systems and ship high-impact software quickly and responsibly.
We’re an in-person-first team based in London, because speed, mentorship, and collaboration matter most.
You might be a fit if you:
- Have built projects in React + TypeScript (through uni, side projects, or internships)
- Understand the basics of APIs, databases, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, or similar)
- Are excited to learn how to build and scale real products used by customers
- Are curious about AI, automation, and code-assist tools (Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)
- Care about code quality and product impact — not just writing code, but solving problems
- Thrive in small, high-energy teams where you can take ownership early
- Want to work mainly on-site in central London with a hands-on, ambitious team
Bonus points if you’ve:
- Used Postgres, Prisma, GraphQL, or Next.js
- Explored LangChain / LangGraph or other AI frameworks
- Built something end-to-end yourself (a side project, startup, or open-source contribution)
What you’ll do
- Build and improve features across the product — from front-end UX to backend logic
- Work alongside senior engineers to design scalable, reliable systems
- Learn modern development practices (testing, CI/CD, code review, observability)
- Experiment with AI tools to accelerate how we build and operate
- See your work shipped to production quickly — and used by real clients
Why join
- Get hands-on experience building complex, real-world systems early in your career
- Work with a small, elite team who care deeply about craft and velocity
- Learn directly from experienced engineers and founders
- Be part of a fast-growing startup where your work genuinely moves the company
