We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fenestration Surveyor to join a growing installation and manufacturing business specialising in domestic, commercial, construction, and local authority projects. The role involves carrying out accurate site surveys, preparing technical drawings and schedules, and ensuring products can be installed correctly and in compliance with current building regulations and industry standards. Projects are typically located within a regional operating area of approximately 30 miles from the office base. The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of window and door systems, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, installers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Site Surveying & Technical Support
- Carry out accurate site surveys for window, door, and glazing installations.
- Produce clear survey documentation, technical drawings, installation details, and material schedules.
- Ensure all surveys comply with current building regulations, technical standards, and company procedures.
- Liaise directly with customers and clients to confirm specifications and requirements.
- Produce surveys using both hand-drawn sketches and digital surveying software.
- Product & System Knowledge
- Develop and maintain knowledge of a range of fenestration systems including:
- uPVC window and door systems
- Aluminium windows, doors, and curtain walling
- Aluminium bifold and sliding door systems
- Steel door systems
- Vertical sliding sash windows
- Composite door systems
- Diary & Workflow Management
- Manage survey appointments and daily workflow in coordination with management.
- Maintain accurate records and job updates within the business workflow system.
- Schedule appointments and ensure office systems are updated accordingly.
- Quality & Compliance
- Carry out surveys in accordance with quality management procedures.
- Assess installation risks and site conditions during surveys.
- Promote safe working practices and identify any health and safety concerns.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with installers, office staff, estimators, and management teams.
- Attend meetings to discuss ongoing projects, issues, customer feedback, and process improvements.
- Provide site support to installation teams where required.
- Participate in product and health & safety training sessions.
- Estimating & Administrative Support
- Obtain supplier quotations when required.
- Assist with processing enquiries and quotations using industry software systems.
