We are looking for a Quality & Stock Controller to join a manufacturing team specialising in steel windows and doors. This role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of product quality and compliance throughout the production process. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and previous experience in quality inspection or stock control within a manufacturing environment. As this is a newly created role, the position would suit someone who is proactive, organised, and able to work collaboratively with production teams to help improve existing processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect welded frames to ensure they meet specifications, including dimensional accuracy and manufacturing tolerances.
- Load completed welded frames onto stillages ready for collection and external processing.
- Coordinate with external finishing suppliers regarding deliveries and collection schedules.
- Inspect returned painted products to ensure they are free from damage or defects.
- Carry out final quality inspections once products have completed the manufacturing process.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of window and door hardware to ensure availability for production requirements.
- Allocate stock to active projects in collaboration with the contracts or production team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in quality control within a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Experience within window or door manufacturing would be advantageous, but is not essential.
- Ability to undertake manual handling and lifting tasks when required.
- Forklift truck experience is beneficial; training can be provided if necessary.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
