We are proud of our reputation for quality, reliability, and long staff retention. We invest time in training our people properly and offer genuine career development for those who want to progress.

The Role

We are looking for a practical, dependable individual to join us as a Production & Orders Coordinator, working closely with our Production Manager. This role sits at the heart of the business and involves estimating processing customer orders, supporting production scheduling, and learning how our products are manufactured. You will regularly engage with the factory floor as well as customers and suppliers. Full on-the-job training will be provided, but you must be comfortable learning technical product details and relevant building regulations over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pricing and processing customer orders from enquiry through to manufacture
  • Assisting with production planning and job scheduling
  • Preparing basic estimates and quotations
  • Liaising with customers, builders, and internal teams
  • Reading and interpreting simple construction drawings
  • Supporting the Production Manager with day-to-day operational administration
  • Developing technical knowledge of rooflight products and manufacturing processes

About You

This role would suit someone who:

  • Has at least 2 years’ office or administrative experience
  • Has a practical, hands-on mindset and enjoys understanding how things work
  • Is organised, reliable, and steady under pressure
  • Can think for themselves and take responsibility once trained
  • Communicates clearly and professionally by phone and email
  • Is comfortable working in a small business where flexibility and teamwork matter

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Confident telephone and customer communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand simple construction drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and good time management

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or building products
  • Previous exposure to production, operations, or technical environments

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (£28,000–£30,000)
  • Full training and structured technical development
  • Long-term, stable role in a well-established business
  • Friendly, supportive working environment
  • Clear progression opportunity to Assistant Production Manager
  • Early finish compared to many office roles
  • Free parking, pension and bonuses

Please Note

This is not a purely desk-based role. You will need to engage with the manufacturing side of the business and be comfortable learning technical information.
