We are seeking a reliable and skilled Plant Fitter to join our team based in the Manchester area. This role involves servicing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining a range of plant machinery and equipment. The position requires regular travel to customer sites, including occasional overnight stays when required. A company van, tools, and any necessary training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on plant machinery and equipment
  • Perform inspections and produce clear, accurate condition and service reports
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs both on-site and in workshop environments
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order
  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Plant Fitter, Plant Technician, or similar mechanical role
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Relevant mechanical or engineering qualifications
  • Experience with hydraulics, electrics, or diesel engines
  • CSCS or similar site certification
