We are seeking a reliable and skilled Plant Fitter to join our team based in the Manchester area. This role involves servicing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining a range of plant machinery and equipment. The position requires regular travel to customer sites, including occasional overnight stays when required. A company van, tools, and any necessary training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on plant machinery and equipment
- Perform inspections and produce clear, accurate condition and service reports
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs both on-site and in workshop environments
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Plant Fitter, Plant Technician, or similar mechanical role
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
- Full UK driving licence
- Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Relevant mechanical or engineering qualifications
- Experience with hydraulics, electrics, or diesel engines
- CSCS or similar site certification
