Job Title: Vehicle Mechanic
Hours: 7:00am β 4:00pm Monday to Friday
Salary: Β£45,000 β Β£60,000

This role is essential in ensuring our fleet of commercial vehicles remain operational, reliable, and maintained to a high standard, enabling us to continue delivering first-class services to our customers.
Role Overview
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will be primarily workshop-based with occasional mobile visits to local sites. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out servicing, repairs, and maintaining a fleet of light commercial vehicles.
This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of light commercial vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
β’ Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle faults efficiently.
β’ Strip, fit, and replace defective vehicle components where required.
β’ Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, ensuring all legal and safety standards are met.
β’ Complete job cards accurately and return them weekly for processing.
β’ Liaise with stores personnel to manage stock levels and order parts efficiently.
β’ Identify and recommend additional work requiring external specialist support.
β’ Work closely with Operations Managers to schedule vehicle servicing and minimise fleet downtime.
β’ Carry out repairs as required while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
β’ Conduct fault diagnostics and implement effective solutions.
β’ Ensure vehicles comply with all regulatory requirements.
β’ Manage stock and materials, ensuring availability of required parts and supplies.
β’ Adhere to all health and safety procedures at all times.
β’ Test drive vehicles to ensure faults have been resolved successfully.
Non-Routine Duties
β’ Continuously develop your skills through company-provided training and development.
β’ Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Garage Manager.
