Job Overview: We are seeking experienced FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) Engineers to support nationwide fibre installation projects across residential and commercial sites. This long-term contract offers consistent work and excellent earning potential. You will be responsible for full lifecycle fibre deployment including splicing, testing, installations, and customer handovers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and test fibre optic cables, including both internal and external premises installs
- Perform underground and overhead cabling (duct and pole-based routes)
- Conduct on-site surveys and assess UG/OOH routes
- Read and interpret fibre plans/schematics (Openreach/CityFibre)
- Complete accurate documentation and test records
- Maintain compliance with health and safety (including PPE, lighting and guarding)
- Communicate professionally with clients, landlords, and site contacts
- Troubleshoot faults and carry out connectivity repairs
- Maintain vehicle stock and tools to company standards
- Must be confident working at height
Essential Requirements
- Candidates must have the following current or recently expired certifications (refreshers may be available):
- SA001 – Overhead Safety
- SA002 – Underground Safety
- S7 – PIA Underground Cabling or Openreach equivalent (K6 or N28)
- S8 – PIA Overhead Cabling or Openreach equivalent (N22, E1, N27)
- Streetworks Unit 2 / 01 – Signing, Lighting & Guarding
- Valid Network Operator Passport Scheme (NOPS) Card
Additional requirements:
- Willingness to undergo a CRB check
- Manual UK driving licence and experience driving vans
- Willingness to stay away from home when required (accommodation and expenses covered)
Desirable Qualifications
- Confined Space Entry certification
- Familiarity with routers, ONTs, and in-home fibre setup
- Previous experience on Openreach or CityFibre networks
