Job Description

Shopfront Fitter / Window Installer (Training Provided)

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Shopfront Fitter to join our installation team, working on commercial glazing and automatic door projects across London and the South East, with occasional work further afield.

This role would suit someone with experience installing u PVC, aluminium or timber windows in either the residential or retail sector who is looking to develop their skills within the commercial shopfront and entrance systems industry. Full training will be provided on commercial glazing systems and automatic doors.

You'll work as part of an experienced installation team, delivering high-quality installations for retail stores, shopping centres and commercial premises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install commercial aluminium shopfronts, glazing systems and entrance doors.
  • Assist with the installation of automatic door systems (training provided).
  • Remove and replace existing glazing and shopfront systems.
  • Read and work from technical drawings and site instructions.
  • Ensure installations are completed safely, accurately and to a high standard.
  • Use a range of hand and power tools.
  • Work alongside colleagues, site managers and other trades on live construction and refurbishment projects.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
  • Complete job documentation where required.
  • Represent the company professionally on customer sites.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Experience fitting windows, doors or glazing in either

o Residential properties, or o Retail/commercial environments.

  • Good practical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools confidently.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new products and installation methods.

CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable

  • Experience fitting aluminium systems.
  • Experience working on commercial sites.
  • Experience with automatic doors (not essential as training will be provided).
  • Full UK driving licence preferred, although applications from non-drivers will also be considered.
  • Working Hours

Most work is carried out during standard daytime hours, however some projects are completed outside normal trading hours. Applicants should therefore be willing to work:

  • Occasional evenings and night shifts.
  • Some weekends.
  • Occasional nights away from home where project locations require it.

Appropriate notice will be given wherever possible.
