Bodyshop Vehicle Prepper β Job Specification -51371
Location: Dunstable, Bedfordshire
Salary: Approximately Β£35,000-Β£40,000 per annum, depending on experience
Employment: Permanent, salaried PAYE position
Start date: Immediate start available
Role purpose
Prepare vehicle bodywork and panels for paint spraying, ensuring accurate colour matching and a consistently high standard of finish. The workshop handles a range of vehicles, predominantly vans.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle bodywork and panels for painting.
- Carry out minor panel repairs and mechanical, electrical and trim (M.E.T.) work.
- Prepare paint-spraying equipment.
- Mix paints to achieve the correct colour match and consistency.
- Work with water-based paints.
- Maintain and clean workshop tools and equipment.
- Store paints correctly and safely.
- Monitor stocks of paints, materials and equipment.
- Follow workshop health and safety procedures.
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Experience and qualifications
- Relevant previous experience in a vehicle bodyshop or workshop.
- Fully skilled in vehicle preparation and associated bodyshop tasks.
- Experience using and mixing water-based paints.
- An NVQ or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and productively.
