Job specification: Design Engineer
Location: Fulbourne, Cambridgeshire
Contract: Full time
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience
Reports to: Project Design Director
The opportunity
Our client seeks an experienced glazing designer to produce coordinated drawings and technical information for manufacture, installation and project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop designs and prepare general arrangement, detail and workshop drawings.
- Compile schedules covering glass and fixings.
- Attend site meetings and assist with surveys when required.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities and project programmes.
- Discuss technical issues with office and site teams, contractors, auditors and regulators.
Experience and skills
- Glazing experience, preferably with Schüco, and knowledge of industry standards.
- Strong AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent CAD skills.
- Ability to interpret drawings, understand technical requirements and deliver projects.
- Office experience and competence with Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Clear spoken and written English, listening skills and effective organisation.
- Accuracy, independent working, teamwork and sound commercial judgement.
- Accountability and the ability to follow instructions.
Travel
A full driving licence and access to transport for commuting and work journeys are required.
