We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Contentious Trusts & Probate Team in Taunton or Exeter as our ongoing success sees us looking to expand the team with flexibility to consider a hire from Associate to Partner level. You’ll be working alongside our Head of Department, Chris Green, a well-respected and well-ranked leader in the field, advising and representing individuals, charities, executors and trustees, both as claimants and defendants in respect of contentious trusts and probate.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of contentious trust & probate matters
- Handling probate disputes involving wills, estates and family provision
- Advising on inheritance disputes, estate challenges and trust litigation
- Contributing to the continued development of the practice through proactive client engagement and business development activities
- Managing cases through negotiation and litigation
- Supporting clients through often sensitive and complex disputes
- Reviewing documents and evidence, identifying relevant information and cataloguing it
- Drafting legal correspondence and documents
- Communicating effectively with clients, opposing parties, Counsel, and expert witnesses
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Working closely with the fee earners in our Contentious Trusts & Probate Team and the wider Private Client department, this role would best suit someone who is proactive, pragmatic and commercially minded with impeccable interpersonal skills.
