Main Function

This role involves manual labor related to the daily cleaning of buildings. Employees work under off-site supervision and perform duties requiring moderate physical strength, including lifting up to 20 pounds. Typical tasks include dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, dusting, restroom cleaning, trash removal, furniture polishing, high dusting, vacuuming, and operating basic mechanical cleaning and floor care equipment.

Training

Comprehensive training is provided to all new employees. Assignments are made based on entry skills and successful completion of training modules. Entry-level tasks generally involve routine cleaning duties.

Examples of Routine Work

• Cleaning public areas including dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, and spray-buff floors.
• Vacuuming and spot cleaning rugs and carpets.
• Restroom cleaning and supply replenishment.
• Dusting and cleaning walls, doors, blinds, windows, and woodwork.
• Polishing furniture fixtures.
• Cleaning elevators and stairwells.
• Exterior cleaning including sweeping walkways and debris removal.
• Trash and recycling collection inside and outside the building.

Physical Demands

Employees must frequently stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, and kneel. Occasionally, lifting or moving up to 25 lbs is required. Vision abilities needed include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, along with focus adjustment. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
