The Opportunity
We are supporting a service‑led organisation operating in a regulated and commercially complex environment, seeking a Head of Commercial Management to lead commercial strategy, procurement and contract governance across a high‑value, multi‑disciplinary portfolio. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for driving commercial performance, managing risk and margin, and ensuring strong governance across major contracts and supplier relationships.
Role Purpose
The Head of Commercial Management will act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing strategic commercial insight while leading a high‑performing commercial and procurement function. The role will shape how the organisation manages suppliers, drives value from contracts and supports sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the organisation's commercial and procurement strategy.
- Provide senior commercial advice to executive leadership and governance boards.
- Lead and develop a commercial and procurement team, setting clear standards and capability expectations.
- Oversee commercial management of major contracts, including change control, extensions and renewals.
- Own commercial risk, margin protection and performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead commercial input into bids, tenders and framework opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers, partners and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, governance standards and ethical frameworks.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable experience leading commercial and procurement strategy in complex operational environments.
- Strong background in managing high‑value, high‑risk contracts and supply chains.
- Deep understanding of contract law, procurement regulations and commercial governance.
- Proven ability to influence at executive and board level.
- Professional qualification (e.g. MCIPS, RICS, CIMA, ACCA) is advantageous.
