Monitor, Assess & Protect

Portare Solutions is delighted to be partnering with a key client, an organisation undergoing significant expansion, to recruit an Information Security Analyst. This role is perfect for someone looking to be part of a core team responsible for the day-to-day security operations and maturity.

About The Opportunity

You will be part of a small team dedicated to the day-to-day operation of the security infrastructure, monitoring events, and responding accordingly. You'll assist in designing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting IT security systems, often tackling complex issues. The role involves a mix of BAU and project work, including Azure security projects, general automation, and ensuring new applications are deployed securely. It's an exciting time to join as the organisation is embarking on large scale transformation and IT maturity.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Evaluating the effectiveness and coverage of security products and tooling.
  • Identifying, mitigating, and managing security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the security operation centre output.
  • Assessing and responding to external threat intelligence reports.
  • Conducting IT audits and security assessments throughout the business against policies and standards.
  • Supporting ISO27001, PCI DSS, and other internal/external audit programmes.
  • Providing support and guidance within IT and the wider business to ensure policy compliance.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Implementing and improving technical processes for efficient and secure methodologies.
  • Supporting the management and investigation of security events, including post-incident reviews.
  • Developing awareness materials to improve the security culture.
  • Researching security enhancements and making recommendations.
  • Staying current on information technology trends and security standards.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a candidate with experience in a technical IT Security role.

Experience & Expertise:

  • Experience in a similar technical IT Security role involving a broad range of tech, including:
  • Knowledge & understanding of security principles across: SIEM, Antivirus, DLP, Firewalls, Open Source Filtering tools, Cloud security (Azure), IdAM (PAM on-prem/cloud), EDR, Scanning/vulnerability tools.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server & Networking.
  • Experience with Incident response.
  • Knowledge of Endpoint and network security technologies.
  • Awareness of IT Security and Governance best practices.
  • Strong understanding of technical security risk, threat, and vulnerability management principles.
  • Knowledge of international security standards and frameworks (ISO27001, PCI-DSS, NIST).

Qualifications:

  • Recognised IT or Information Security qualifications (Cisco, SANS, ISO27001, CCSP, CISA, or SSCP) desirable.
  • CEH desirable.
  • Relevant degree qualification desirable but not essential.
