This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to shape how a diverse workforce connects to purpose, priorities and change — in an organisation where communication genuinely matters.
The Opportunity
This is not a business‑as‑usual internal communications role. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening internal communications and employee engagement across a mixed workforce, including frontline operational teams and office‑based colleagues. The role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery and works closely with senior leaders to support clarity, engagement and organisational change. There will also be some interaction with external stakeholders where a broader communications or PR perspective is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading internal communications and engagement activity across the organisation
- Creating clear, accessible communications for a wide range of audiences
- Designing and delivering employee engagement campaigns
- Supporting senior leaders with clear, confident messaging
- Building effective two‑way communication using insight and feedback
- Supporting communications through organisational change
- Managing and improving internal channels, including intranet, campaigns and frontline communications
- Using data and insight to measure impact and continuously improve communications
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrable experience in internal communications or employee engagement
- Proven experience delivering employee engagement campaigns
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders
- Ability to communicate complex or sensitive topics clearly and engagingly
- Experience using data, insight or feedback to improve communication effectiveness
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience in a public sector or regulated environment
- Experience supporting communications through organisational change
- CIPR qualification (or equivalent)
What's on Offer
- Generous annual leave
- Good Pension
- Hybrid working with an Oxford base
- A supportive, family‑friendly working environment
